What is GPA?

 

GPA (or the Great Pharmacy Adventure) is a student-run welcome event for the UBC Pharmacy Class of 2021. This is a great way to meet your fellow peers while exploring the campus. Essentially, all the new incoming pharmacy students will be paired in groups of six and assigned to a group leader, and each team will be going through the day’s activities together.

This event also provides the opportunity for you to get to know some familiar student faces that you will see throughout the years. Don’t worry, we always have the right balance between professionalism and fun.

 

How much does the event cost?

 

Early Bird Price: $35*

Price (July 15th-August 1st): $40

*Early bird price lasts only until July 14th 11:59 PM so buy your tickets fast! Compared to other freshman events, this is a great deal!

How do I pay?

We are accepting online payments through PayPal or in-person payments at the UBC Pharmaceutical Sciences Building once registration opens on July 8th. You will receive an email within a few days confirming your registration once you have both submitted the online form and have paid your event fees.

**IMPORTANT: If you are using a credit card, debit card, or PayPal account that is NOT under your registered name (e.g. the account of a family member), you MUST indicate on your registration form the name of the cardholder/accountholder that has paid for you**

 

What do I get from GPA?

 

Two meals + tons of snacks/refreshments, a snazzy GPA T-shirt (and other pharmacy swag), an after party, an awesome campus-wide amazing race with fantastic prizes, a chance to meet your peers, and guaranteed fun times!

 

When are the deadlines?

When will I be notified about my group leader?

 

All participants will receive an email with their group members’ names and their group leader by September 1, 2017. Look forward to getting a phone call or message from your group leader one day prior to the event!

 

I have a religious commitment on Sundays, can I come to GPA in the afternoon and miss out in the morning?

 

Of course! We are willing to accommodate anyone who is unable to make Sunday mornings (or afternoons) due to religious commitments. Please email us at gpa.exec@ubcphus.org regarding what times you are able to make it and we will try our best to sort things out for you.

 

Who do I contact if I can't attend GPA anymore?

 

Please contact us at gpa.exec@ubcphus.org with your full name, student number, and a detailed explanation of your absence before September. From September onwards, please notify your group leader via phone or online messaging as we need to know right away. You will be contacted by a member of the GPA Committee shortly thereafter.

 

If I change my mind, can I get a refund?

 

There are no refunds unless deemed reasonable by the 2017 GPA Committee.
